Jim Acheson

I would like to add the name of my late husband and Greenfield Park Oldtimer hockey player, James Acheson Sr., who died of liver cancer in 1997.
This is the last picture that was taken of Jim. It was I believe in 1996 at
the Oldtimers Hockey Tournament held in Greenfield Park.
We were married in our late teens, (not unusual for the early 60's), and had our two children in our early 20's. We moved to Greenfield Park in 1970 and bought our house on Bellevue (the other side of the Park) in 1972. We lived there until Jim's sudden death in 1997. We were married 32 years.
Everyone who remembers him will think fondly of his sense of humor and his ready laughter. He loved his sports and was often watching sports on two televisions and listening to the Expos on the radio. He bought a sports store on Queen Mary Road in 1985 and could be found there most days talking about the previous days game with anyone who came in.
This is how I would love people to remember him, his love of life, ready laughter a deep sense of family and friends.
